Ingredients for Dough
Flour – 2 Cups
Egg – 1
Yogurt – 1/2 Cup
Milk – ½ Cup
Oil – 2 Table spoon
Salt – 1 Tea Spoon
Sugar – 2 Table Spoon
Dry Activated Yeast – 1 Tea Spoon
Baking Powder -1 Tea Spoon
Milk Powder – 2 Table spoon
Filling:
Cream Cheese – 5 to 6 Cubes.
Sugar Syrup:
Water – ½ cup
Sugar – 2 Table Spoon
Saffron – Few strands
Honey – 1 Table spoon
Lemon Juice– ½ Tea spoon
Method of Sugar Syrup preparation:
1. Heat water and add sugar.
2. Bring water to boil add saffron.
3. Add Lemon juice and cook until the water is reduced to half quantity.
4. Add honey, mix and remove from the stove.
Method:
1. Sieve Flour, Milk Powder, Baking Powder and salt together.
2. Sponge the yeast by mixing it with sugar and Luke Warm milk. Let the yeast rest for 15 minutes to activate.
3. Once yeast is activated, there will be foam on top of yeast bowl.
4. Add Yogurt to yeast and mix.
5. Add Egg and mix with yeast
6. Add oil and mix with the yeast.
7. Now add wet ingredients into the dry ingredient and knead a soft sticky dough.
8. Add some Luke warm water if required to knead the dough. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes and the dough should be very soft.
9. Apply oil on top of the dough, cover with plastic and let it rest for one hour at a warm place.
10. Preheat oven at 180 degrees centigrade for 20 minutes.
11. Line a Baking tray (square or round as per your desire) with baking paper and grease it.
12. Take the dough out of the bowl to a clean and straight surface and deflate it.
13. Apply oil in your hand.
14. Spread a small piece of dough in your hand and add a small piece of Cream cheese in the middle. Bring the edges together and make a ball. Make sure that the cheese is secured properly in the middle of the dough ball.
15. Now place the balls in the pan in honey comb pattern and repeat the steps until complete dough is consumed.
16. Apply Egg wash and sprinkle Sesame Seeds.
17. Cover the bread with plastic film and let it rest for 30 minutes.
18. Bake bread in the pre-heated oven for 20 – 25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown at 180 degrees centigrade.
19. Take Honeycomb bread out of the oven, Pour sugar Syrup on top and serve fresh.
